Didn't even give my Mom a decent chance before deciding to kick her out. She has dementia and acted out a couple of times due to what was found to be an untreated UTI. She did have an altercation with another resident due to her agitation caused by the UTI. When she was first admitted, they talked about how they would observe her and get her on the correct medications and dosages to control her agitation and continuously monitor her for the UTIs and that didn’t happen. They didn't do any reasonable evaluations or even send her anywhere for a professional psychiatric evaluation like they said they would do. They basically just said too bad and kicked her out. You would expect better from a Memory Care Unit that deals with dementia patients each and every day. Be careful placing your loved one in the Arboretum Memory Care Unit. If your loved one has any issues with agitation due to dementia and or the occasional UTI, they will not help them get the proper medications necessary to help them, they will just kick them out. Please beware before trusting the Arboretum with your loved one.
Mother goes to Arboretum for respite when we need more help for her and rest for us. I have no bad things to say. Staff has bent over backward to give her excellent care .
The facility is inviting and the programs for resident involvement is very good. Nursing and support staff is very involved in how to make their care more comfortable.
Quality Score
Carley found exceptional care quality and a clean, welcoming environment that families consistently praised, though communication around care adjustments could be more proactive.
