Working with Senior Services of Austin made it much easier for me to help my dad with various challenges that he faced when he moved into a new apartment, since I live far from Austin. Sara Tucker, our care manager, was efficient, kind, perceptive, and thoughtful. Nanci Kahn, a nurse at Senior Services of Austin, was also very helpful and compassionate. My dad and I worked extensively with Sara and Nanci for over two years, and I don’t know how we would have managed without their help. They helped coordinate my dad's move and make sure he was safe in his new apartment, and helped us manage medication challenges, navigate difficult hospital and rehab stays, and plan next steps after discharge. They advised us (always in a non-judgmental and not pushy way) when we weren’t sure what to do and offered us logistical and practical support. At a time when we really needed help, they were the best support system we could have asked for. I was also glad that the owner of the company, Ariel Goward, was on call to help when Sara wasn’t available. I highly recommend Senior Services of Austin to anyone needing assistance with issues related to caring for an aging family member.
