I was a patient for 3 months. Several times the call button was out of reach where I was not able to reach it so I had to resort to calling out for help! Then I got yelled at for scaring them!!! I on one occasion called for an aide to help me with a bowel movement because I had diarrhea since I was not able to get out of bed. She said she would be right back and returned 90 minutes later after I had already dirtied my diaper!! Then I got yelled at because I didn't use the bedpan!! Since I am diabetic I asked the kitchen manager if there was a separate menu for diabetics. I was told in a very nasty tone of voice that everything she cooks is healthy! So pasta or spaghetti 5 nights a week! At night you can wait up to an hour or more to get someone to help you and then you regret bothering them. I was so happy to get out of there I have told my family if I am ever in the position that requires a nursing home again just shoot me because I will not go back there!
My mother-in-law is here now and suffering from neglect. We are working on moving her to another facility ASAP. When a family member stopped to visit she was in her room, door open, with nothing but an adult diaper on her where everyone could see. It's cooler outside than inside this place. She can't even left her arm to drink water and looks like she is starving. She's only been here a few weeks and could walk on her own when she arrived for rehab after leaving the hospital. The nurse said they are doing rehab and my mother-in-law says they have not. Her condition definitely agrees with the latter. They haven't been giving her medication because they say she refuses, her reaction to this was confusion... I'm not buying it. We will be contacting authorities and possibly seeking legal counsel to determine our options going forward.
Cisco Nursing and Rehab is a great facility with a home-like environment. The staff cares for the residents with empathy and compassion. Cisco has a great rehab program, also. If you're looking for somewhere to place your family member, or if you are needing in patient rehab, this is the place to go. This is hands-down the best nursing home around.
Quality Score
Carley found a clean, welcoming environment appreciated by families, though concerns about staffing responsiveness and care consistency emerged across multiple accounts.
