My mom was here for a rehab stay and her time here was very good. The 3rd floor care staff was attentive and kind and took good care of her. The administration/social worker was very helpful, as I was very unfamiliar with the processes. I would recommend Brookdale Westlake for anyone needing rehab care for their loved ones.
So far it’s my 2nd day here and i came for rehab after getting out of the hospital. I arrived on Saturday and the people here and nurses had been very nice to me and very helpful the only downside was the call button took a while for nurses to come and see whatever i needed them for but it hasn’t been that bad lately and the food werent that bad they just have lists of food and you get to choose what you want as the dietician put you on whatever type of foods you can eat but they tastes better than hospital food. I have no complaints about it so far so i will update if anything changes. UPDATE: It has been almost two weeks and OMG, I LOVE THIS PLACE!! The nurses and all the staffs here are super nice, they helped me with alot of things, both OT and PT staffs were awesome and they pushed me everyday with helping me get stronger slow and would not give up motivating me everyday with helping, the foods was really good, the medication staff was very attentive and on time and also fast when i asked for my pain medicine, whenever i needed something, and press the call light bell, like changing my brief, medicine, staff’s aid with transitions and need hoyer lift to get me out of bed to my wheelchair, it was always answered less than 5-10 mins at some time but mostly very sudden, I really wish I could stay here long time but they are very highly costly and does not accept my insurance, which make me unfortunately having to send me home without care or help and that makes me severely uncomfortable about that as this place makes me feel like home and safe, knowing i am in good hands. I will be hating to leave this place. Everyone do take great care of you here and care and treat everyone like family. I would love to give them a 5 stars but one is off because they can’t keep me here and sent me home without anyone to care for me which now it gonna make me end up back at hospital soon enough… *sighs*
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Experience at Brookdale Westlake Hills My family chose Brookdale Westlake Hills because they took excellent care of my grandfather six years ago. Sadly, the quality of care has gone downhill DRAMATICALLY. The staff now are unprofessional, inattentive, and clearly unhappy in their roles. Every time I’ve visited — and after hours of being there, observing staff behavior firsthand — I’ve consistently seen them sitting on their phones instead of caring for residents. This is not just a one-time occurrence; it is a pattern that reflects neglect and lack of interest in their responsibilities. When they do interact with residents, it’s often with a bad attitude, as though the residents are inconveniencing them. Family members and I have repeatedly asked for updates on our loved one, particularly from NURSE EVAN, and each time we were treated as if we were a nuisance. EVAN often responded with a dismissive tone, gave vague or minimal information, and acted visibly annoyed that we were even asking. At times, it felt like pulling teeth to get even the most basic updates about our loved one’s condition — which is unacceptable when someone’s health and dignity are at stake. This is heartbreaking to witness, especially when entrusting them with the care of someone you love. It is shocking and disappointing to see this level of neglect and indifference in a place that is supposed to provide care and compassion. If you value your loved one’s dignity and well-being, DO NOT send them here. They are NOT in good hands.
Quality Score
Carley found families consistently praised the beautiful, immaculate environment and strong sense of community, though some noted occasional staffing responsiveness challenges.
