BUCKNER WESTMINSTER PLACE

My daughter, Laura, had ALS. My wife, Blessed and I had cared for her as long as we could in our home. When her breathing began to change drastically she was in Longview Regional in their ICU. Afterwards, we were in a transition time and needed care before starting end of life hospice. Buckner Westminster offered her a place in their skilled nursing. She was in Skilled nursing for about 2 weeks before the next medical crisis. (ALS progresses rapidly.) The care for her and our family was fantastic. Laura could not turn herself nor eat nor drink by herself. Laura was on a bi-pab, NIV and completely bed bound. The staff were patient and caring. Cheerful and encouraging even though her condition was undeniably terminal. This disease was brutal. But God encouraged and strengthened Laura and my family in their care. Was Buckner perfect? No. But I will say that when we encountered problems, Buckner listened to us and responded quickly. There are no perfect organizations in this life. But Buckner Westminster Place was a blessing to my family. Laura is with the Lord Jesus so she is doing great. Looking back, what a joy it was to work with Westminster Place in our daughter's care.

My parents found themselves needing a place to stay after their home burned down. Amber and the staff went above and beyond to modify a cottage for them quickly. My mother is in a wheelchair and needed special accommodations and Buckners made it work. They are very happy and everyone has been so friendly and helpful for what has been a difficult time.

I moved my mother into Buckner Memory Care (The Harbor) in August 2022, where she resided until her death in June 2024. In the time that she was in Buckner's care, I was always assured of the quality of care that she received. She was treated with dignity, well cared for, safe and loved by those who attended to her needs. As Alzheimer's began to increase the needs that were required for her daily care, the staff at Buckner never failed to continue the quality of care required. They communicated effectively with me as her daughter and ministered to me and other extended family with care and compassion. I can not adequately express the blessing that Buckner was to my mother and my family and friends.
