FARMERSVILLE HEALTH AND REHABILITATION

Farmersville Health and Rehab has been a god send for our family. After the horrible experience we had at Lexington within 48 hours of admission we had lost hope in nursing homes and were terrified to try again but my mind was changed within one hour of checking in at FHR. Every one of the staff there has been amazing you can tell they really care about their patients and want to help. Not only do they perform their duties but they go above and beyond to provide fun activities to keep the residents engaged and encourage them all to spend as much time as possible out of their rooms. All the nurses/CNA and social worker have helped so much with getting in touch with different doctors to adjust my grandmothers medications and make sure she is getting the best care. She has Alzheimer’s and recently broke her hip at home unfortunately mentally she has really began to decline rapidly but I couldn’t ask for better communication from the staff. They keep me informed on any issues and if they are having any problems with her refusing meds at night they call me to assist which I’m so grateful for! I really can’t say enough good about the staff there and I wish I had the authority to give them a nice bonus or a huge raise. I’ve personally seen what they have to do all day and to have the patience and desire to keep coming everyday deserves the greatest recognition. The staff at Lexington down the road should really head over to FHR for training on how a facility should be ran and patient care. -Cally Nerwich

I highly recommend Farmersville Health & Rehab. My brother spend almost a year there before his recent passing. We spent time in probably 5 other rehabs/nursing homes before Farmersville that I would not have written a review for any of them but wanted to publicly thank the staff here. It is not the most modern or up-to-date facility but the staff was always amazing. I can't even begin to name everyone but from the management, to the nurses, medical assistants, aides, dining crew, & maintenance -- absolutely everyone was so kind, helpful and I believe really cared about my brother. Everyone seemed to have a positive attitude and love their job. Most had worked there for many years and turnover seemed very low which must say something about the environment for staff also. I always felt welcome visiting, requests for my brother's special needs were accommodated, if there were ever any issues they were immediately addressed, and I thought their food was always very creative, looked appetizing and beyond what you normally get at a care facility. Like any place, there was an issue from time to time but they quickly found a solution that was best for the patient and family. Even when my brother deteriorated, staff would go above and beyond to make him as comfortable as possible based on what they knew he liked. When he passed, it felt like saying goodbye to family.
