My dad lived at Alexis Estates in Allen, Texas for seven years until he passed away. He enjoyed living there and had many good friends. It was like a real family to him. A good thing about living at Alexis is the mangers live on-site. Someone is always there to help if the need arises. They really care about the residents and make things nice for everyone. The activity director is wonderful and has many fun activities planned. She also schedules talented entertainers that come in for everyone's enjoyment, from piano players to singers and dancers and more. If you are looking for a great place to live for you or a loved one, please check out Alexis Estates in Allen, Texas. I highly recommend it.
Sitting here listening to the weekly meeting and simple requests from residents like how to make a grilled cheese escalate in to a lengthy discussion/argument from management with no resolution. Some also asked could they keep the back doors unlocked so residents can access the garden area as they used to with the only response that it’s not required because managers are off shift at that time. A suggestion to look in to the cost of installing a keypad was dismissed. The first thing I heard from manager with the microphone was in response to a complaint that questions are often met with “I don’t know”. He stated that it’s ok to not know but that it shouldn’t be the final word. I agree! Certainly hope that means management is actively seeking answers to resident concerns and requests. We’ll find out next week…
