KENT COUNTY NURSING HOME

The staff here really CARES. They're mostly local to Jayton and often work beyond the scope, not just for residents, but local family and friends. As someone who frequents facilities all over Texas, I'd recommend it.

When searching for just the right care center for my husband after he had completed physical therapy in a rehab center but could not yet walk, and him being a large man it was impossible to take him home safely. I searched many Nursing Facilities in the Lubbock area and did not find one that I felt he would be comfortable in. Thanks to a dear friend of mine, she suggested I look into KCNH in Jayton, TX. This was where she had placed her husband for loving care. Like all the rest, I made an unannounced inspection of the facility. I found CNAs walking and talking to the residents. The facility was immaculately clean. Then I met Shirley in one of the halls. She was with housekeeping, (and a jewel!) and she introduced me to the Administrator. He arranged for Norman to be transferred and would be eligible for a longer stay at this facility. Since then, we have been able to transfer back home and then when another "aging" problem would arise within our lives, he would want to go back to Jayton. They have been so kind and the medical staff they have made certain he is cared for in every aspect. The facility has changed Administrators again, but the new Administrator you will find talking with residents and families as if they were her own! This facility makes certain the residents have activities that interest them, and this facility is decorated like they would want at home. Yes, this is a Nursing Home, but it has been an answer to our prayers. Thank you, Kent County for all the effort, kindnesses and love you share in this place away from home. Linda Hardy.. Clean facility, wonderful staff. The residents are very well cared for. In between Lubbock and Abilene. I highly recommend this home for loved ones as my grandfather was once a resident and I personally worked here. I have seen the care given and am still blown away at the difference between kent county nursing home and other facilities I have visited.
