I had to make the decision to move my mom into Mercy House, and I’m so grateful with how the transition was. The staff was so kind which was so helpful because I was terrified to leave her. The staff was so respectful and comforted even me and made me feel so good about the whole situation. They have answered every question we had I couldn’t be more thankful for everything. I am so happy I made the decision with such great people.
We recently made the decision to move my grandmother into Mercy House, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the experience so far. From the moment she arrived, the level of care and attention she has received has far exceeded our expectations. The staff is not only professional and attentive, but they also go out of their way to ensure that she feels comfortable, safe, and truly at home. One of the things that has impressed us most is how responsive and communicative the team is. Every question or concern we’ve had—no matter how small—has been answered thoroughly and with patience. It’s clear that the staff genuinely cares about both the residents and their families
When my mother arrived at Mercy House, she was experiencing cognitive decline due to dementia, but she was still fully functional in her mobility—able to walk, talk, and engage. After just 60 days, she is now heavily medicated, requires help walking, and has experienced a rapid and troubling decline. One of the more concerning issues is the lack of meaningful communication between staff and residents. Many staff members do not speak English fluently, which poses a serious challenge—especially for patients with dementia who depend on clear, familiar language and consistent verbal interaction to help maintain their cognitive function. Communication is not just a courtesy; it’s a vital part of their care and well-being. Additionally, the staff are not particularly welcoming or engaging, and the overall environment lacks warmth. Meals are not prepared on site and are of poor quality, further diminishing the standard of care. Overall, I am deeply concerned about the care my mother has received and the general conditions at Mercy House.
Quality Score
Carley found families were impressed by the exceptionally clean, well-maintained environment and compassionate staff, though care consistency raised concerns for some.
