This is one of the loveliest SNF our mother has ever been in. The staff all cares and the facility is clean and inviting. The physical therapy team is amazing and cares about progress. The social worker Dami is a gem to work with. They also assisted in long term solutions for our mother
This experience in the skilled nursing unit has been a horrible experience for my husband. He currently has an assisted living location in katy. However, he had to stay in skilled nursing when released from the hospital due to administration of IV antibiotics. Parkway place decided to stop the antibiotics 2 weeks early. He was prescribed the iv every 4 hours. His physician was on the phone with Parkway Place immediately after advisement of their lack of attention. The director of nursing, Rosemary, never seems to be at the facility and seems challenged with the direction of care with the patients. This morning I arrived at the facility at 10:45 am. My husband had called for assistance from a caregiver at 8:15 am since he had defecated in the adult diaper. It had been 2 1/2 hours he had been left in that condition. On Tuesday of this week I arrived and my husband had been left in his wheelchair for 2 hours. He has had back and hip surgery in the past month and cannot move unassisted-he was not supposed to be left in the wheelchair for more than one hour. I found his caretaker, Angie, and I asked if she would assist me in moving him back to his bed as he was in pain and she said she was busy. I advised her he had his call button on for over an hour and I was afraid to try to move him by myself as he could fall-she walked away and said "oh well". I reported all these issues to Rosemary and nothing. Apparently after today Rosemary said Angie would no longer be my husband's caretaker. I guess now he will have no one-also, they let the urine bottle fill up and told him they would not fill his water because he urinated too much. He had been told the day before he was slightly dehydrated. This facility should be reported. Update as of 12/24/25-my husband's doctor had sent orders to have his pic line removed on 12/16/25-it was not removed until I called and had a very intense conversation-that was on 12/22/25! Six days that he had to wait. Rosemary, director of nursing should be removed from her position-ignorant, rude, inept, incompetent and she threatened me with parkway place attorneys-i would have enjoyed speaking with the attorneys-i am considering contacting coalition for the elderly, tv news station, and the texas department of health. I am not one of the paid posters
DO NOT GO FOR SKILLED NURSING! Don't be fooled by a nice appearance. Very poor care, nights and weekends are bad. Calls can take multiple hours to get attention. Calls to nursing director were in broken english from a totally unqualified and ignorant woman. We would have to call the front desk on behalf of the patient to get any attention. Our patient was rushed to the hospital with severe rectal ulcers that burst from lack of hygiene and care. Food was terrible, cold, and requests ignored. Only got PT a few days a week (in place of daily) and refusal to get patient out of bed. AWFUL. A few of the staff are OK. It's evil to claim this place is faith based.
Quality Score
Carley found families consistently praised the exceptional care quality, beautiful modern environment, and attentive staff, though skilled nursing experiences drew some concerns about response times.
