My husband has been there a couple of times and this last time he wax suppose to get therapy and he most of the time he stayed in bed. I told them he was a fall risk and there answer to that was we’ll lower the bed for him. It’s gone down hill and when I’ve called to talk to someone in charge I couldn’t get a hold of them or even when I went to the facility same thing. The first day he got there he had to wait hours to get his pain medication and they finally gave it to him and then later they said they didn’t have it. Then they would over medicate him and he told the doctor and he said her would address it .I will never send him to a facility like that again. It’s gone down hill and apparently nobody cares about their patients. He got discharged on a Saturday and we were back in the ER, because he was in so much pain and could barely walk. I know insurance companies nowadays only let you stay for a certain time and we appealed it and it got denied. They told us we could appeal it but it would take 14 days and if it didn’t get approved we have to pay for those days. Well he’s in the hospital with three fractures in his back. The care and staff are not doing there job. I’m glad he’s out of there and I’m posting this, because I don’t want anyone’s loved ones to go through what we did.
Today, I had the pleasure of coming to Remington of Richardson to complete an assessment on a patient moving to our Assisted Living community. During my visit, I was in awe of the caregiver on the 2nd floor named Curtis who was assisting the resident we were assessing. This job is not for the faint of heart and he went above and beyond to help us! His smile and infectious attitude was 5 star! He truly seemed happy to be caring for his patients.
Do not take your loved one to this place. They said they have skilled nurses. They do not. They say they can assist dementia patients. They can not. My love one was s. Abused as a young woman. She now has dementia. So she does not like to be in the room with men she isn't familiar with. The first time I met the staff I told them this. They said they would get her a female nurse and assistant. In 2 weeks I saw the female cna 2 times all the other times it was a guy. Then Christmas day there wasn't a nurse or aid to be found anywhere. The worst thing that happened was they didn't bath or shower my love one for 4 days. I left out of town on a Thursday and returned on a Sunday. My loved one had on the same clothes that I put on her the Thursday that I left. I went to visit one evening, she was on a mattress with no sheets on it and food was all over her clothes and in the bed. Just filthy. Before I left the facility I complained to the assistant director. No one has called me. Do not take yourself or your family to this rehab center.
