I visited several assisted living /memory care communities in the Belton area and I liked Stoney Brook of Belton the best. The staff was friendly, and they really seemed to care about what they were doing there. When I walked in it was beautiful. We toured around lunchtime and the food smelled and looked amazing. We decided that this was the best place in the area for our mother. During her nearly 2 years living in the memory care side, we never worried about the care they provided. Everyone there was respectful and kind to mom. I knew she was safe. They all took very good care of her all the way to the end. if you are facing the difficult decision of choosing a place for your loved one, rest assured you have found the right one with Stoney Brook of Belton.

This is an amazing community! Not only is the facility awesome, but the management and staff are top-notch! My loved one has had the absolute best care and our family rests in knowing that they are in excellent hands!!!

Worst experience ever. Inaccurate med logs, rude med techs, no nightly checks on residents, no one motoring hallways. Most attendees stay in the break room and chat with each other, very few of them keep an eye on the residents. They do not follow Dr orders. Bedsheets rarely changed. They don't clean the rooms. My dad was either denied medication or over medicated. Changed in medications without letting anyone know (even though I am his POA). My father suffered 7 months of neglect there. 45 minute response time to call buttons. Unexplained bruises on his body. No incident reports from multiple falls. One fall resulted in a hospital stay. One fall resulted in increased medication while he was recovering. I was told he was experiencing confusion, and was forced to hire a sitter 24 hours a day, at my own expense, on top of the $5500 a month that I was paying Stoney Brook. And that is just the tip of this horrific iceberg. A few of the employees there seem to have their heart in the right place, but they are outnumbered and outranked by an administration that is focused on revenue, not residents. UPDATE: I recently came across the reports Stoney Brook SUBMITTED TO THE STATE on my Dad. They write THREE elopement reports. So I googled elopement. He NEVER left the property, which is THE DEFINITION of elopement. Yes, he was caught outside walking his dog at around 6 am in his boxers. He has done that for years, but it was never considered a documentable offense. And considering most of the doors lock behind you, its a good thing someone found him trying to get back inside. Stoney Brook wrote up one elopement report when he was IN THE HALLWAY after walking his dog, their explanation was "He had been outside, but one of the other residents let him back in". Well good job, on the other residents part! At least SOMEONE was paying attention. Because the employees there don't. They do not keep an eye out for residents that need help, or even know where the residents are, or if they need medical assistance.

Carley's Analysis

Carley found families consistently praised the beautiful, spotlessly clean environment and attentive, caring staff, though meal quality and consistency drew some concern.
