This place is a joke. They complained that our loved one wouldn't participate in the rehabilitation activities but she had a stroke she was unable to. She became unresponsive and no one noticed until we came up there to visit and we had to call 911. I would never put any human being in this facility. A day later we lost our loved one. The only person that would write a 5 star review would be a worker. Do not put your loved ones in the place.
My loved one was there recently towards the end of 2024.. The staff showed us 0 respect the care was horrible they ask us to stay in the room 24/7 or get a private setter... Why because they couldn't do there job I was paying thousands of dollars and they could not do there job so they wanted me to pay more for someone to come in and do there's ? But yet I would see staff on there phones even witnessed a fight between staff... When I had a feeling something was not right I put up a camera in the room and you would have thought I had a security officer posted up. Shortly after that we was asked to transfer.... Our experience was so traumatizing for us and our loved one... I would highly recommend taking your loved one somewhere else !!!!!! DON'T PLACE THEM IN THE CARE OF THIS PLACE I'm waiting for the standard response this place gives all the negative reviews.... Bla Bla Bla
I’ve never had to post a review for anythings before, but I have to post to protect your loved ones. My mother was admitted this past Friday into Park Highlands Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Athens Texas. 1. She got the wrong dosage of medicine for the first three days. 2. I consistently told them that one of her meds was for sleeping, but they gave it to her Monday morning. 3. A medicine change was done on Monday but on Tuesday morning, they gave her 2 medicines that overdosed her!!! She was incoherent and they had to monitor her vitals!!! 4. I was the only person that brushed her teeth and after her shower Saturday morning I had to ask for someone to bath her again on Wednesday afternoon. 5. Wednesday night I came in at 7:15pm and heard her screaming for help as I passed the front door. When I went to her room, her dinner tray that was delivered at 5:00pm, was too far for her to reach, untouched and freezing cold! I immediately went to the nurse’s station who was like “oh I didn’t hear her”- and as I stood by her station I could hear her plain as day! She came down to her room with me and I asked the nurse when she was in here last- she said I walked by her room at 6:00 pm and saw her tray- she never came into her room or checked on my mother who has orders to be fed! My mom was so confused and exhausted from screaming for help she couldn’t speak well and was just moaning most of the time and had her discharge to take home. At this point, I immediately filed a police report of neglect. There is also a report filed with Health and Human services for all the medication errors.
Quality Score
Carley found serious concerns about care quality, medication errors, and attentiveness that families found deeply troubling, though some praised professional and respectful staff.
