I’m a new patient here at Park Bend medical center and upon arrival I immediately felt comfortable and everyone was smiling and interacting and engaging. Truly the most comfortable I have ever felt in my life a medical facility. Great team and leadership as well as the room and bed are very comfortable. I will update during the length of my stay here.

I have more cons then pros. It depends what reason you are being admitted for. I do not recommend sending a loved one there for skilled if your LO is trying to recover from a stroke and is nonverbal. They are very sweet when you are taking a tour but once your LO is admitted. Its a total different scene. They don't set you up for success for your next steps if its going home or waiting to get admitted to inpatient rehab. The administrative team will tell you what you want to hear and don't follow through with some of the requests. I had shared with them the request when LO arrived and during the care plan meeting few days later they are taking notes like this is the first time they are hearing about his daily routines, rehabilitation, and activity requests. They offer mass on Sundays and I had requested the team to get my LO up and for 3 straight Sundays, he was left in bed and missed Sunday mass. It took me sharing my concerns with a patient living there to advocate for my LO. She made sure my LO got up for service one morning. If you are verbal and the staff can wheelchair you to participate in their daily activities in the dinner room. You will say the place is great and the staff are nice. They do not try to make sure all patients are treated fairly and keep them stimulated.

Looks like they got purchased by Avir. Hopefully that is a positive change. Hopefully the new owners will replace the burned out lightbulbs. Buy some new lobby furniture, replacing the chipped and worn items in there. An update is needed and I am aware that money is always an issue. Almost stayed here in the rehab section, but there was an issue with my medications. Brittany in the front office was super pleasant and helpful. Brad, seems like a good guy for Director of Nursing. I ended up going somewhere else, but the dull and drab interior paint colors and the run down furniture and nurse cabinets in the hallways was depressing. Years ago when this place first opened, it was lovely. Now, not so much. Staff is good and bad everywhere, so that’s a crap shoot wherever you go…3 stars because it appears to be just another run of the mill nursing home with a skilled nursing/rehab component.

Carley's Analysis

Carley found families reported inconsistent care experiences and communication gaps that didn't match the friendliness shown during tours, though some praised attentive staff and warm interactions.
