My father was a resident at Barton Valley. The nurses, nutrition manager and all staff was very attentive. I volunteer for bingo once month. It was great experience to inactive with residents. Recently they had Halloween event. The residents enjoyed immensely. I highly recommend Barton Valley.
I volunteered at Barton Valley. Staff were so pleasant, I can see the residents are well taken care of. The food looked great. Residents had so many items to select from. They always have fun and engaging activities for residents to participate in. I will definitely recommend Barton Valley and continue to volunteer.
We had to file a health code violation here. We toured and thought it was ok, and they had space for our dad but within a week of him staying here we were completely shocked. My father sat for 4 days with a tie around his arm from a blood draw (I took him to the app. To get it) **no showers for my father** and it left mark and was so swollen. (Ps they also “missed” my dad’s Dr. appointments 3 times I had to keep rescheduling and they kept promising they would take him but they didn’t. He was in a room that was shared and his neighboring roomie smeared poop on the walls multiple times that was never cleaned up. They overmedicated my father giving him twice the insulin recommended. We got him out of there as fast as we could. Do NOT work with the care coordinator/ team person named Amanda. She lied over and over and was completely horrible to us when bringing this all to her attention. Please please don’t rely on the probable fake positive reviews. Please go there multiple times before taking a loved one (unannounced!!) so they won’t “clean up” for you. Then you might see what it’s really like there. They were also telling my dad to stay in bed alll of the time. He didn’t even have a chair in his room, he never got to go outside because he was a “fall risk” so instead of wheeling him outside ever or anywhere, he told me they just made him stay in bed all day. I hate this place. And my blood still boils when I think of Amanda. Oh I also forgot to add that my dad had dementia and they let him leave because someone on the staff thought he was a visitor and not a patient. Probably because all of their patients look terrible. It literally smelled soooo bad like soiled diapers in here almost every single time I went. We also had a lot of difficulty even getting into the building to visit, there’s a buzzer but the desk was unattended every single time I went. Taking up to like 5 minutes to even enter the building… find somewhere else.
Quality Score
Carley found serious concerns about communication accessibility and care consistency that troubled families, though the facility's environment and activities programming earned genuine praise.
