My loved one spent 6 years at Windsor Duval. I have the greatest admiration for the care he received. During Geoff's time there, I always felt the staff did care for him. After he passed, Shiney made sure that I could sit with him for a while; several nurses hugged me, and I got a condolence text from Dr. Janet and Aisu called me. Wonderful folks there.
I have stayed here 6 months. I give this place and the employees 5 stars and would have given them more if I could. The CNAs were patient and professional. So kind to the residents who needed more help. They would discuss any changes in my treatment routine to me patiently. Often they were willing to compromise with me. As my health got better I was given some privileges. I was allowed to go outside for short walks as long as I followed the guidelines they set. The food is very good for institutional food. It wasn't the same thing week after week. The rooms and common areas are kept clean. My laundry was done promptly. There were all kinds of activities. Bingo. Arts and crafts. Outside groups coming in and bringing Spiritual teaching. Get together for holidays and birthdays. While I was here I had a massive heart attack. My heart stopped beating 4 times. Their medical staff kept reviving me until EMS arrived. I literally put my life in their hands and I'm still here to talk about it. I recommend Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation on Duval Rd 💯 percent.
I visited about a dozen skilled nursing facilities before selecting Windsor for my 90 y.o. mom. She had taken a fall at her Assisted Living facility and broken her arm up near the shoulder. I was very concerned about her care because in addition to the broken arm she suffered from Dementia and Parkinsons. Not every place was equipped to handle it all. The staff at Windsor took good care of her. The facility was clean and bright. The CNAs were always kind and attentive. The nurses dealt with her various ailments competently and compassionately. The PT/OT staff got her up and moving around. The food was good. And Pam, from admissions, assisted in resolving any administrative problems that came up. If my mom needs skilled nursing again at any point I would have no problem taking her back there.
Quality Score
Carley found strong rehabilitation programming and engaged staff appreciated by many families, though care quality concerns and communication gaps were consistently problematic.
