This care facilities (owners/investors) suffers from the same things as all the care facilities I've dealt with---understaffed, poorly paid staff, promised care they have difficulty providing yet collect money for services. My family member has gone up to 4 days without baths. When you call to request help, you get referrals to "nursing" where no one answers. When you do get to talk to someone, you are told "They can get a bath whenever requested." Yet they don't get one. God help us. Maybe our only hope in this world is for AI (robots) to drive all these facilities out of business.

Let me say first of all that there is no perfect nursing or rehab facility, but in my opinion Five Points comes as close to that goal as one could expect. Selecting a rehabilitation facility is a daunting task for which few of us are prepared, and after looking at several others, I decided on Five Points. Krysta and her team run a clean, orderly, and welcoming facility where the staff are friendly, conscientious, and competent. The four halls converge on a large, bright, and open area which contains the nurses station, offices, and public visiting space where there are pleasantly arranged tables, chairs and sofas. There is even a faux fireplace that generates heat, and artwork on the walls. A very pleasant space indeed. My 80 year old friend for whom I am caregiver, has just been discharged after almost 5 weeks of post stroke rehabilitative therapy. The physio, occupational, and speech therapists are all certified and attentive. The therapy gym is well equipped and spacious. The rooms are reasonably sized, each with a large window and private bath. In the rehab wing, every effort is made to give each rehabilitating patient their own room, which was the case for my friend. Housekeeping services clean the room every day, and the laundry will wash your soiled clothes at no charge, if you choose. Each room has its own thermostat; the AC and heating unit is very quiet. My friend found the food tasty, but I augmented the meals with yogurt, cheese, fresh fruit and crunchy vegetables that we kept in a small dorm sized fridge which we procured ourselves. The experience was very good, and I would not hesitate to recommend the Five Points facility without reservation. Thank you to the entire staff!

I have been a resident at Five Points since summer of this year (2024), having moved from Fortress NH after suffering a major seizure in 2021. Adjustment to life in a nursing home is a jarring experience for virtually everyone, as one is uprooted from their home & family and must acquaint/adapt to new family here. I’ve seen many people imploring to understand where they are, why they’re here, or have been abandoned (as it seems to them). Been there, done that. It takes time to acclimate. Families, of course, suffer also from loss and confusion. Skilled care is a loving choice for loved ones who need it in a great many circumstances. Five Points Nursing & Rehab is a shining example of how to do long term care right, because caregiving is about people. Being a new facility (opened in March ‘24), administrative leadership here is setting a tone and creating a people-centric culture. Administrator Krysta is a rare combination of compassion and competence, regularly seen both serving residents and holding staff accountable. We may have our share of growing pains, but ask me or any residents here about the “conditions on the ground” at Five Points NH and you will get an unwavering and enthusiastic “Thumbs Up!” (one of our employee positive performance recognition programs). I do not dismiss or discount comments from others who have shared concerns or issues from their experiences here. I’ve read the reviews of such nature, but of course am not privy to the confidential details. I can only share my experiences and those of the many current residents with whom I have relationships. Literally all agree that in the balance, facility and staff do a terrific and caring job for us. And Resident Council 5 would give a wholehearted Thumbs Up…Way Up, to administration and staff of Five Points Nursing & Rehab!
