I had an incredibly traumatic and terrible experience at Corinth Rehabilitation Suites on the Parkway. A dear friend of mine was staying there, and I went to visit her after hearing she wasn’t doing well. When I arrived, I noticed her condition was dire, and after checking for a pulse, I believed she had already passed away. Not to mention that her fingertips were blue, the inside of her mouth was blue and purple, it didn’t seem like she was breathing, and her body was ice cold. Despite this, there was no sense of urgency from the staff. It took far too long to get a nurse, and when one finally arrived, she confirmed that my friend had “just left us.” However, based on her condition, I have serious concerns that she had been gone for longer. The lack of communication and care from the staff was shocking, especially considering how long it took them to even notice she had passed away. There was no communication from the staff at all. Did they know she passed? The room was cold, windows were open, and it just seemed off. If you’re looking for a facility where your loved ones will receive attentive care, I cannot recommend this place. It felt like the staff was negligent, and the whole experience was heartbreaking.
I cannot say enough about how well I was treated and how kind everyone was during my stay. I wish I could list everyone individually but way to many but the CNA, nurses, the physical therapist, the med distributers, just everyone. I was here for 22 days after 14 days in the hospital. I came in not being able to do much and have gotten much stronger and able to use the walker to get around now. So thank you very much!!!
I would not leave your loved ones at this place. Yes it looks good on the outside and inside but don't let that fool you. On the different hand outs that they gave me mentioned the PT was strongly encouraged as it should be. It also mentioned if they are not feeling up to it one day they could skip it. We sent an email asking them not to take my father to rehab the next morning. When I arrived he was in rehab. I asked he be taking back to his room. Slowly they did. By the time they got him in his bed he was in extreme pain. Then to get pain meds in a timely matter is another issue. On top of this they suggest a medical procedure he needed. After my sister and I discussed it we declined the treatment. They did not respect our decision. On two different times on the same day they showed up to his room to insert a pick line which we declined bc we were moving him to hospice care. So they apparently do not respect your decision as a family. Apparently they feel your loved one is their property (lack for a better word). Luckily my sister was staying the night with him only bc dad asked her to stay because he was not comfortable with the care he was receiving. On top of all this he had alzheimer's and I feel they tried to take advantage of him.
Quality Score
Carley found exceptional care quality and a beautiful, welcoming environment that most families deeply appreciated, though communication gaps and staffing concerns were noted by some.
