My mother has been living at Poet's Walk for several months. Since a recent change in ownership and management, there has been noticeable improvement in the quality of care and staffing consistency. The caregivers and activities teams are amazing! All of the employees are getting to know my mom's likes and dislikes, and though she is shy, they are able to get her engaged and involved. I highly recommend this facility for mobile and active individuals needing memory care.
We took a tour of Poet's Walk and were very impressed by the staff and facilities. It has a very warm feel to it and everyone we met along the way made us feel right at home. Currently mom is in an AL facility so we are checking out places for when she needs MC and Poet's Walk will the place for her when the time is right.
This community has gone downhill. All the management team quit when the new director took over, and the replacements are not as attentive. They go through employees quickly due to burnout most of the staff we loved when we would visit my aunt are gone. I've heard staff complain about how they are treated. People here are going through the motions, and the building is outdated. I really wish the employees here had more training to handle the people who live here. Management leaves early and are hard to reach. I'm so disappointed because this used to be such an active community and I only see them with heads on tables or watching tv. I'm shocked no one else has spoken up yet.
Quality Score
Carley found families consistently praised exceptional care quality, a bright and welcoming environment, and engaging activities, though communication processes occasionally felt complicated.
