My husband had a severe heart attack in Oct. 2024. He had has Rehab at Blue Skies which is an amazing place for your loved one. He was always treated with kindness and respect. I highly recommend Blue Skies because they have the best nurses, CNA's and wonderful staff.
DO NOT under any circumstances send someone you care about to The Mission located within the confines of Blue Skies East of Texas. The staff, from the top down is fraught with incompetence and laziness. My dad was there for 3 weeks and his health declined rapidly while in their care. I went to visit him for Father’s Day weekend, he was in a vegetative state ,wreaked of urine and everyone that you would ask regarding his condition had a different answer. Thank god we had a pre scheduled Dr appt on the Monday after Father’s Day at which his doctor sent him immediately to the ER and has been in ICU ever since. The doctor that has been caring for him at Methodist Hospital , which is a first class facility by the way, said that if my dad would have remained at the Mission for another few days he without a doubt would have passed away. The staff wrote his declining condition off to a UTI when in all reality was suffering from acute kidney failure and had to have 1.8 liters of urine drained from his bladder. When confronted about this travesty they took no accountability what so ever and claimed that he left the facility in the same condition in which he arrived. Admittedly he was not 100% when he entered. He was admitted for a fractured collar bone yet he still walked into the facility with the aid of a walker and departed in a wheelchair knocking on deaths door. The department of Health and Human Services has opened an investigation into this matter and will hopefully require a complete over haul. In conclusion, I surmise he would have had greater care at the Bexar County Detention Center and it wouldn’t have set him back $7700.
Awesome community for senior living. Superior savings in comparison to similar opportunities and the care and compassion in both meeting and exceeding the needs of the residents under their wing. Abundance of resources and programs tailored to keep them the head and not the tail. Additionally the lines have been redrawn so that even non military families can now enjoy the opportunity and benefits.
Quality Score
Carley found exceptional care quality and a beautifully maintained environment with abundant amenities that families consistently praised, though rehabilitation program effectiveness drew mixed feedback.
