After the surgery and immediate recovery from a brain bleed, I chose the Brazos of Waco as it offered by far, the highest rehab and recuperative success ratio of the ten facilities offered us at the hospital. They weren’t kidding. I am amazed at the dedication of the therapy and rehab staff here. They have done and continue to employ remarkable skills and persistence in getting my wife back on her feet, walking, and regaining normal daily function after such a traumatizing experience she went through. Also, the level of socialization is terrific and has enabled my wife (who had a dementia journey of 2-1/2 years prior to the surgery), to regain her verbalisation to the level near the point prior to the injury. Would highly recommend. The only negative I have seen, is that when you have been used to eating good organic foods, most all of these facilities use a tremendous level of processed foods, but that is a small (temporary) price to pay for the excellent care one receives here. HIGHLY recommend.
We were faced with placing our mom in a facility due to a pelvic fracture. Our family was very pleased with cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness of the staff at The Brazos of Waco. Our mom told us numerous times “they are so nice to me” and we were so thankful we found the right place for her. Unfortunately she passed away from pneumonia complications. We loved her deeply and wanted her cared by those that would treat her as we did and we were not disappointed at the Brazos. They made a difficult journey just a little easier and if we have a similar need with our dad we will use them again.
My mom was there this year. They kept misplacing her medicine or it couldn't be found by new staff. They use agencies so there is always different people working there who don't know the patients. During hospice my mom was not taken good care of. She passed away there this year. Small closets and tvs didn't work good.
Quality Score
Carley found exceptional care quality and rehabilitation outcomes in a clean, welcoming environment, though staffing consistency and response times emerged as recurring concerns.
