I have lived at The Stayton for almost fourteen years. My favorite things about living here are the friendships with other residents and the excellent care from the staff. However, there are lots of other things to love. We have free transportation to doctors’ appointments, hair appointments, DFW Airport, museums, concerts, lunch and dinner outings, and anywhere else we might want to go. We have an excellent exercise program sponsored by Cooper Clinic in Dallas, an indoor pool, and a fully outfitted gym. We have in-house concerts and lectures and many special social events. We have three dining venues, and the food is delicious. Of particular note is that we are a CCRC, which means we have four levels of care: Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing Care. I have had occasion to have excellent care on the nursing floor, conveniently here in this building, following three surgeries. We are currently undergoing a “refresh” of our common areas to bring everything back to “like new.” We would love for you to join us.

After his stroke in November, my father spent about a month on The Stayton's skilled nursing floor. I'll start with what we liked: the facility is clean and very well maintained. The quality of the food was good. The staff were caring and attentive. What we did not like: the over-medication. My father wasn't ready for agressive in-patient rehab, so we ended up in temporary skilled nursing at the Stayton. Their philosophy seems to be to keep the patient as pain-free as possible (which is fine for someone who is dying, but not for someone trying to recover). The contstant stream of narcotics resulted in his being so lethargic and medicated that he was unable to participate in therapy. When he started heavily hallucinating, I insisted he be sent back to the ER. He is since on his way to recovery, but I sadly cannot recommend this facility's skilled nursing floor.

Stayton Independent Living is absolutely wonderful. My parents moved there over 8 years ago. My father passed away after a stay in assisted living early on. We were very happy with his experience there and have no issues to report. My mother has had a wonderful experience in Independent Living starting with a social group of friends, grief sessions, bridge club, dining groups, events downtown using Stayton transportation, and more. Sometimes when we visit we stay in a suite they make available for visiting family so see the cleanliness, excellent dining, and friendly staff up close almost like a resident. Thumbs up on this great community and property positioned as the premier community in Ft Worth for many years!

Carley found families consistently praised the exceptional, compassionate staff and outstanding care quality, though communication clarity and staffing consistency on certain units drew some concerns.
